Client: PlaceIQ + Microsoft
Role: Visual Design Lead (concept, art direction, design)
Type: Interactive Mobile Ad
MAIN OBJECTIVE

Microsoft approached us to create a proposal for a back to school campaign. The star products to be featured are the Surface Pro 6 and Surface Pro Headphones. They wanted their products to be first-to-mind when students considered purchasing a tablet for school.
DEFINING THE PROBLEM

The market is filled with different tablets for students to choose from. Apple's iPad is usually first-t0-mind when it comes to purchasing tablets. We needed to figure out a way to position the Surface Pro as premium and household product for students everywhere.
SOLUTION

I wanted to make the user feel like they are unique and the Surface Pro 6 being able to meet their personal needs. One way to convey this was to carry this over into all of the copy/language of the ad. Since the core audience is high school and college students, I wanted the ad to be engaging and fun. I wanted the ad to make the user feel like you are playing with the Surface IRL.
In order to achieve this, I created a swipe-able panorama that explores key features and allows the user to view the Surface Pro 6 in 360 degrees to get up close and personal.

Each side has a has different content for the user to explore. The left side features a description and the 360 view hotspot. The right side features an additional description with a video hotspot the user can watch upon tapping the watch video button.
